Overview

Juaboso district is one of the nine districts in the western north region of Ghana, with Juaboso as its capital. It has sixteen (16) Electoral Areas, four (4) Area Councils. The district has a surface area of about 1,284 square kilometers and serves as an entry/exit point between La Cote d’Ivoire and Republic of Ghana. It has a population of about 94,620 (2020 Population & Housing Census). The district shares borders with Bia West and Asunafo North districts in the North, Asunafo and Suaman Districts to the South, Bodi district to the East and la Cote d’voire to the West.

The district has a network of schools catering for the educational needs of its residents. The district has 103 primary schools, 61 Junior High Schools (JHS), and two Senior High Schools (SHS).

While the road network primarily consists of untarred feeder roads, essential social amenities such as water, electricity, and telecommunication services are available most communities in the district. Additionally, sanitation facilities contribute to improving overall public health and environmental sustainability.

Juaboso District ensures the safety and security of its residents through the presence of key security agencies. These include the police force, fire service, immigration officials, and forestry authorities, working collaboratively to maintain law and order, respond to emergencies, and protect the natural environment within the district.
