The New Juaben North Municipal is located within the South- Eastern part of the Eastern Region of Ghana. The municipal shares boundaries to the North with Abuakwa North, to the South with New Juaben South to the East, Yilo Krobo and to the West with Suhum.

It stretches between Latitude 60°70’W and Longitude 10°30’’ and 00°30’E. The municipal area has a total land area of 106 square kilometers.

The municipal has 5 sub municipals: Effiduase, Asokore, Oyoko, Jumapo and Akwadum. The Directorate is operating with 1 CHAG hospital, 3 Health Centers, 28 CHPS and 2 private clinics
