Gertrude Yentumi is a dedicated and accomplished professional in the field of nursing and public health, with a career spanning over two decades. Born on November 5, 1975, in Kete Krachi Nkwanta, she has made significant contributions to maternal and child health in Ghana, particularly in the Northern and Savannah regions. Gertrude Yentumi is a professional Nurse whose professional carrier has been devoted to improving maternal and child health outcomes in the Northern and now Savannah Region. Areas of specialty are in the field of reproductive and child health, adolescent health and development, monitoring and evaluation, and quality improvement. I worked as a Municipal Public Health Nurse in Two Municipalities for four (4) years with excellence. I have served as a regional trainer of trainees in the area of HIV testing and counseling and prevention of mother- to- child elimination program for sixteen years. I possess special skills in planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of health programs. I am a very optimistic person who believes that most of the gaps in health service delivery that affects the quality of health care can be closed by testing the right change ideas and system redesign. I am currently the leader of the health team in West Gonja municipality which is poised to bring about change and innovations in the health systems and create a center of excellence for learning and leadership in the Savannah Region and the Ghana Health Service. I have a special interest in family planning programming since there is strong research evidence that is one of the most effective ways of reducing maternal morbidity and mortality in Sub Saharan Africa. I always welcome opportunities to impart to young people in the form of mentoring and coaching in the health sector because I believe they hold the future of the health service.
