healthcare system

The Lambussie District healthcare system is robust, featuring two polyclinics, five health centers (two of which are CHAG facilities), and thirty-nine (29) CHPS zones with Nineteen of them having a compound. The district can boast of a 100% CHPS coverage and functionality. There is a Port health Post at the Hamile Border providing disease prevention and surveillance activities.

Without a District Hospital, referrals are made to hospitals in Nandom and Jirapa. The private sector includes one facility, the Muslim Community Clinic in Hamile. There are 128 immunization/outreach points. There are 100 Community-based Surveillance Volunteers (CBSVs), 225 Community Based Agents (CBAs), and 18 Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) who support health activities and referrals. The Sub-District Health Team (SDHT) and Sub-district Health Management Team (SDHMT) oversee health service planning and implementation.

Despite challenges such as high maternal anemia, low family planning acceptor, and low skilled delivery rates, the District Health Administration (DHA) and its partners are implementing effective interventions to address these issues.
